DESCRIPTION

Ooreka is a content-based websites editor. Through finely targeted content, SEO careful grooming and an industrialized website framework, we were able to built 460 websites on 460 different subjects and an audience up to 20 millions UV / month.

Day to day, I would:

  • Collect business needs and input from CEO & marketing people to match it with user needs
  • Functional conception of all the features on the websites: (information architecture, user and feature workflows, specs, etc.)
  • Responsive design UX/UI: wireframes, prototypes, design system, etc.
  • User research: AB testing campaigns, lab usability tests, AT internet data analysis, etc.)
  • Close collaboration with the CTO to ensure the platform performance and the functional industrialization of the CMS and the websites
  • Brand management: visual identity, print ads, radio ads, presentation videos, etc.

DESCRIPTION

  • Context & Scope:
    • A year after the initial launch of the “Trouver une Plante” (Find a Plant) feature, the team embarked on a journey to iterate and enhance its functionality. Armed with insights from user interactions and data analytics, we set out to refine the user experience and address key priorities.
  • Discovery & Planning:
    • Initial Ambiguity: Initially, the team faced challenges in aligning on project priorities. With the accumulation of data and a tangible interface for testing, the path forward became clearer.
    • User Testing: To audit the current feature, I spearheaded user tests, encompassing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • User Testing Approach:
    • 1. Qualitative Usability Testing:
      • Engaged 8 users, spanning diverse demographics (age 25-50, male/female).
      • Conducted 45-minute moderated sessions, incorporating pre and post-surveys.
      • Leveraged the Thinking Aloud method for in-depth insights.
      • Recorded sessions comprehensively for analysis.
    • 2. Quantitative Testing:
      Recruited participants via our newsletter to gather behavioral insights and refine user needs understanding.
  • Analysis & Recommendations:
    • Post-Test Analysis Workshop: Collaborated with team members and stakeholders to extract highlights and categorize insights.
    • Detailed Report Delivery: Delivered a comprehensive report outlining key focal points, pain points, and recommendations for functional and design enhancements.
  • Implementation, based on the recommendations, the following actions were undertaken:
    • Enhanced the multi-criteria search engine by adding additional criteria.
    • Redesigned the results page to include more photos for improved visual engagement and choice.
    • Reorganized sections within the plant fact sheet to enhance usability and accessibility.
    • Change the variety table to a customized list to improve mobile reading
  • Outcome:
    Through meticulous analysis and iterative refinement, the “Trouver une Plante” feature underwent a transformation, enriching the user experience and further cementing its role as a cornerstone of the Ooreka platform. The collaborative effort between stakeholders, designers, and users propelled the project forward, ensuring continued growth and innovation.
